Sports overview
There is an extensive sports programme available at DVS. The most popular sports are Volleyball, Gaelic football, Basketball and Soccer. The school is known nationwide for its success in Volleyball. Other sports available at the school are Hurling and Athletics. Students have access to sports facilities including astro-turf and hall on campus on the Mayflower site. We have a fully qualified PE teacher on staff and several teachers involved in coaching our students in the various sports. We also avail of the services of a GAA sports promotion officer.
Clearly, sport has an important place here at DVS. We understand that involvement in sport promotes a healthy lifestyle and promotes teamwork and competitiveness.
